The Study Program of Public Health, Udayana University was established on 16 April 2001 under the Faculty of Medicine and later it is equivalent to faculty level on 3 September 2002. This study program was founded to provide quality human resources in health management and health education.
In the first year after its establishment, this study program admits students, who have graduated from Diploma 3 in health sciences e.g. Nutrition, Nursing, and Environmental Health, for 2 years program. In the second year, it admitted students, graduated from high school, for 4 years program. This study program was directed to:

• establish human resources development, especially in field of public health
• strengthen and develop the study program of Public Health in enhancing its capacity in public health development in national, regional and international level.
• develop the substance of Public Health science according to the new paradigm in public health.
